Printing and Publishing Project

Details

This project was started in January 2006 and funded by the Big Lottery for three years. The project will build on the quarterly newsletter 'the Signpost' which has been produced by this agency for the past six years and which was limited to the east of the county.

The newsletter is now published bi-monthly and distributed county-wide, and has been redesigned and extended to include a wider range of issues. The newsletter has information specific news sheets which include: local and regional news; funding and opportunities; training, conference and seminars; useful information; volunteer news; I.T. and e-resources; social enterprise; children and young people; government initiatives and diversity and equality news.

A bi-monthly information update is also published on our website on alternate months to the Signpost.

This project will also provide help to communities wishing to develop the quality of their local newsletters and communities without newsletters can be helped to develop them.

Communties will be helped to develop the quality of their local newsletters which will hopefully be used as carriers for relevant information. Communities without newsletters will be helped to develop them through training and one-to-one assistance. Leaflets covering the range of information relevant to voluntary and community sector groups will be produced and widely circulated.

An improved information distribution system will be developed in cooperation with other voluntary sector agencies and with the local authorities.
